The Writeback Extension has a few different elements that need to consider as you set up the extension in your Qlik environment.

In this video, Scott explains how to set up the enviornment, the required SQL data tables and the edits required to the Qlik load scripts, from the perspective of the app builder.
11. What are the different ways to set up the load scripts?
There are a few different ways to set up the Qlik Load Script depending on your use case.

In this video, Scott explains three Data Modelling Options and gives a simple example of a load script in the context of a sales negotiation process.
12. How do Partial Reloads work with my Qlik Application?
Partial reloads of the Qlik app are required to minimize the time taken to pull edited data from the SLQ table back into the application.

Scott explains how partial reloads work, and the 3 Qlik statements that are used for partial reloads. He also highlights the key things to look out for when setting up your load scripts.
13. How does the Writeback Extension manage User Monitoring and Error Handling
For user monitoring, we have all edits stored in the history table, for full auudit trail. Error handling is managed through status messages inside the extension pop-up that tell us about the status of teh API connection and alerts users to any configuration errors. Full debug logging is generated and Qlik log scripts can be used to debug partial reload errors.

In this video, Scott dives into the detail inside the writeback window, and shows examples of some of how error messages are proactively managed and displayed.
14. What’s in the 2020 Development Pipeline for the Writeback Extension?
There are a number of exciting features that have been flagged for development in our 2020 pipeline.

In this video, Scott talks through the Writeback product roadmap, including new database options (MariaDB, Google BigQuery), enhanced customization options of teh writeback window, improved license management, data governance enhancements (incld. date picker edit type), and form view editing option.

16. What is the Writeback Extension implementation process?
We have a simple step by step implementation process that involves preparing the environment, installing the required software and packages, setting up the SQL databases and tables, configuring the load scripts, and linking the extension to your Qlik application.
